Betty Gallap

Betty moved from So. California to Carson City in 1979, where she worked for Coats & Clark and Sav-On Drugs. In 2014, she moved to Las Vegas to be near her daughter and shortly thereafter they relocated to Pahrump. A tireless worker and single parent, she was active in her church and was loved by all who knew her. Betty was absolutely fearless, without complaint, fiercely independent and a loving mother. She asked for little while giving selflessly of herself. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her only child, Bonnie Shanteler. At her request, there will be no service.

Eleanor D. Thompson

Mrs. Eleanor D. Thompson suffered a stroke November 11 and died at Banner Churchill County Hospital. Born September 10th, 1935 in a tent on a sandbar just upriver from Council, Alaska, to Francis and Lily Walker, Eleanor, an Inupiaq Eskimo, married George Thompson of Ukiah, California, in Sitka, Alaska, on June 14, 1963.

Eldon “Perk” Perkins, 94, a Carson City resident and business man for 56 years, passed away peacefully at home with family on Nov. 3. Perk was born in Nevada, MO and joined the Army Air Corps and the war effort in July 1941 soon after leaving school.

Allen D. Woods passed away on November 5, 2015 at Northern Nevada Hospital. Allen was born January 25, 1931 in Michigan. He has lived in Fallon, Nevada for the past 9 years, moving here from Redondo Beach, California. He had been in law enforcement for over 20 years with the Redondo Beach Police Department, working his way up to a Captain.

Ray D. Cardenas passed away November 15 2015 after a long bout with cancer. Ray is survived by his wife Cindy. Son Tim Tobias & grand daughter Hazley along with his mother Bonnie, Father Ray Sr. sisters Wendy & Stephanie, brother Shawn stepmom Audra, cousins Michiel and Danny, Aunt Skip & Lou Carrica, cousins Jay Morgan, Sheri Hall Janine Bolla. Ray lived in Torrance, Calif where he owned his own auto glass business, Ray graduated from Churchill High School in 1981.

John “Jack” Cardinalli passed away Wednesday afternoon on November 11th, 2015, at 81 years old. He was the son of John A. Cardinalli, a hard rock miner, and Hilda Cardinalli, a teacher in Eureka, NV. As a youth, Jack was first in his class, captain of the football team, and an Eagle Scout.
