Joseph Emmanuel Pardew

Dad left us peacefully the morning of November 11, 2015. Another member of our Greatest Generation, He was born in Nettleton, Arkansas to Guy A. Pardew Sr. and Ida May Pardew. Joe grew up with a love of aircraft and flying. He joined the U.S. Navy in February, 1942. After completing basic training he went to NAS Moffett Field, Ca. where he was assigned to Lighter Than Air Squadron 3 where he served as a flight mechanic. He was later assigned to Fleet Air Wing 14 as a flight engineer and gunner on patrol bomber aircraft. While at Moffett Field he met the love of his life, Mary Jane. They were married June 9, 1943 in Redwood City, Ca. After returning from duty in the Pacific Theater he left the Navy. Joe and Mary settled in the Bay Area. Dad worked as a carpenter, raising their two sons. After the birth of their third, they relocated to the Lake Tahoe area and later to Minden, Nv. In 1988 they moved to Carson City. He enjoyed flying, building boats and fishing. Always fun to be with, “Ace” will always be loved and missed. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Allan, brothers, Ambrose, William Eugene, sisters Laura and Margerite and his parents. Guy Pardew Sr. and Ida May. He is survived by wife of 72 years, Mary, two sons, Daniel and David, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial will be at a later date.
