Barbara Jean Baxter Olenslager

July 6, 1934 - Oct. 18, 2015

Barbara Jean Baxter Olenslager, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father on October 18th, 2015. Barbara was born July 6, 1934 in Carson City, Nevada to William Mathew Baxter and Electa Lorraine Johnson Baxter. She grew up in Carson City surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, graduating from Carson High in 1952. On June 11, 1953, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Leslie G. Olenslager, and they were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. Barbara was a dedicated employee throughout her extended career and was always loved by everyone she worked with. She retired from Cumorah Credit Union in Las Vegas, where she worked for over 20 years and made many lasting friendships. Barbara is survived by her eternal companion Les Olenslager; her three children, Marie Blazzard, Mark Olenslager (Judy), and Debbie Delahoussaye (Mark); her eight grandchildren, Katy Carter (David), Kimberly Ruesch (John), Kevin Blazzard (Ted), KC Blazzard (Ashley), Brandon Olenslager (Lauren), Brayden Olenslager, Kristin Delahoussaye, and Dustin Delahoussaye; her six great-grandchildren, and her brother Donald Baxter (IaIeen). Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Florence Baxter, and her great-grandson Bracken David Carter. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Mountain Cemetery, 1044 Beverly Drive, Carson City, Nevada.
