The R-C Morning Report

It's appropriate that the man after whom the Douglas High School field is named will be the first person to be term-limited off the board. No one told Keith Roman that it was time to go after nine years on the board, he just didn't run again, which is as it should be. Thanks Keith.

School board trustees will discuss the budget, which appears to be in sound financial shape. They ended up with an ending balance of 11.1 percent of the district's $49.2 million budget. Trustees meet 3:30 p.m. at the Douglas High School Media Center in Minden.

The Weather Service has issued a special statement about how soupy it's going to be over the next week. The jet stream is going to be carrying moisture into the area this weekend and early next week. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions in the Sierra.

For today expect the wind to keep going until 7 p.m. It started raining in Genoa at about 6:28 a.m. Expect about a tenth of an inch. Motorists should watch out for crosswinds on Highway 395 during the commute today.
