The R-C Morning Report

Today we recognize all those who've served their country with a day of remembrance. It is the 90th anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918. There isn't much going on in Carson Valley, but Virginia City is having its annual parade 11 a.m. today. There is also a rededication of the veterans memorial at Lone Mountain Cemetery at 3 p.m.

Thanks to the Gardnerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8583, Carson City's American Legion Post No. 4 and the Minden-Douglas Elks Lodge No. 2670 for placing flags on the graves of veterans at Valley cemeteries.

Douglas County School Board trustees are scheduled to meet next week to discuss picking an interim superintendent in the wake of Carol Lark's resignation on Tuesday. We'll get you the particulars online today and in Friday's edition.

There's a slight chance of rain today starting around 10 a.m. and increasing around 9 p.m. tonight. According to the National Weather Service, less than a fifth of an inch is expected to fall today and tonight. The rain could turn to snow at 4 a.m. Thursday, but don't expect much to be on the ground. It's going to be windy today and through the night.
