The search for a new school superintendent continues this afternoon as trustees of the Douglas County School District work to narrow the field from four to two candidates. Trustees will meet 3 p.m. at the district offices on Mono Avenue.

The second annual Parent Symposium is 5-9 p.m. at Douglas High School. Sponsored by the Partnership for Community Resources the symposium focuses on teen issues and suicide.

They'll be talking about the book "Three Cups of Tea" at the Douglas County Public Library, 1624, Library Lane, in Minden at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Members of the Indian Hills General Improvement District are meeting 6 p.m. tonight to discuss their tentative budget. I'm told to expect some fireworks, but it's been a while since I've been down there. The district board meets at its offices at James Lee Park.

Today will be mostly sunny and breezy with a high of 59 degrees. The wind will be 5-15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph. Expect the highs to climb a little higher toward the end of the week. There's also thunderstorms on the horizon for Friday.
