Project Santa. Wrapping and sorting of presents for Project Santa Claus is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today, Saturday and Monday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Building. Children 10 and older welcome to help. Information, 782-4931.

Gift tree helps shelter animals. A holiday gift tree to supply items for homeless animals is displayed through Tuesday at Max's Pet Supplies in the Raley's Center in Gardnerville.

Donated gifts will be delivered to the Douglas County Animal Shelter before Christmas. Information about DAWG at dawgrescue.com

Christmas dinner. Carson Valley Residential Care Center, 1189 Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos, serves a free turkey dinner for seniors 65 and older at 1 p.m. on Christmas Day. Make reservations to arrange transportation by Monday at 265-1400.

Noel dinner. The 11th annual Noel Christmas Dinner for those without family is Dec. 25 in the St. Gall Catholic Church Pastoral Center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Refreshments at 1 p.m., turkey and ham dinner at 2 p.m. Anyone in the community who will be without family may receive an invitation by calling event coordinator Rita Hill at 783-9908 with information on how many people will attend. Include your name, address and phone number. Transportation is available for those who need it.

Toys for Tots. More donations of new toys are needed for the Toys for Tots drive through the Ron Wood Family Resource Center. Toys and monetary donations accepted at the center, 212 E. Winnie Lane in Carson City. Information, 884-2269.
