How to make holiday donations

n Donate used bicycles, tricycles, wagons or scooters in good condition to the Kiwanis Club of Gardnerville-Minden. Drop-off sites are the Town of Gardnerville maintenance yard at 1369 Highway 395 or the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District office, 931 Mitch Drive. Information, Tom Peters, 782-6384.

n Project Santa Claus accepts donations of good quality winter clothing, unwrapped new toys, books and games. Drop-off sites include: Carson Valley Medical Center, Cooperative Extension Office, Raley's camera department, World Gym and many Minden Village locations. Information, Marilyn Malkmus, 782-4931.

n Frozen turkeys, canned hams, nonperishable food and volunteers needed at the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. Hours: 1-4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday. Information, 782-3711.

n Sponsor a child at Christmas by choosing a name off a Project Santa sponsored Angel Tree at Taylor-York Salon, 1625 Highway 395, Minden, Sharkey's Casino, Raley's, R & T Cleaners, Scolari's, Carson Valley Medical Center and the Topaz Lodge. n Douglas Disposal sponsors their 14th annual food drive to benefit Carson Valley Community Food Closet. Customers are asked to fill a plastic grocery bag to place next to their trash containers for the Dec. 8-12 pick-up. Donations may be delivered to Douglas Disposal at 1653 N.
