Project Santa

Food closet seeks donations

Sponsor a child at Christmas by choosing a name off a Project Santa sponsored Angel Tree at Taylor-York Salon, Sharkey's Casino, Raley's, R&T Cleaners, Scolari's, Carson Valley Medical Center and the Topaz Lodge. Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe

St. Gall Catholic Church's traditional Celebration of The Patroness of the Americas begins with Mariachi Mananitas at 5 a.m. today followed by hot chocolate, coffee and Mexican bread. Folklorico dancers perform at 4:15 p.m. followed with Mass at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner dance at 7 p.m. St. Gall is at 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 782-2852.


Christmas play

Douglas High School drama department presents 'Christmas Attitudes,' 7 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the Douglas drama room. Tickets are $5 in advance, $6 at the door or $5 with a canned food donation. Information, 782-5136.


Pancakes with Santa fundraiser

Tumbleweeds Gymnastics Booster Club sponsors a visit from Santa and pancake breakfast, 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday, at Tumbleweeds Gymnastics, 2231 Meridian Blvd., Unit 2, Minden. Breakfast is $5 or free for children 2 and younger. Photo with Santa is $5. Parents may leave children, age 4-12 years, at the Drop-N-Shop. Cost is $35. Call to sign up at 782-4496.


Young At Heart Christmas party

The Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club hosts a Christmas party Saturday for seniors only at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Church service

Dayspring Christian Assembly celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ with a choir and children's program, 10 a.m. Sunday, at the church, 974 Tillman Lane in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Refreshments served. Information, 265-3544.




Christmas concerts

Gardnerville Elementary School presents Christmas programs of favorite holiday songs. The fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders' program is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and the first-, second- and third-graders' program is 2-3 p.m. Thursday, at the school, 1290 Toler Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 782-5117.
