Volunteers needed. A planning meeting for the 11th annual Noel Christmas Dinner is 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Volunteers needed for set-up, food preparation, serving and clean-up of the Christmas dinner. Singles or couples who will be alone on Christmas Day are invited to the Christmas dinner. Angel Trees. Sponsor a child in need for Christmas by picking an angel from one of the Project Santa Claus Angel Trees at Taylor-York Salon, Tumblewind, Bently Biofuels, Sharkey's, Raley's, Scolari's, R & T Cleaners and Carson Valley Medical Center. Food drive. Berean Bible Church hosts a food drive for families in need. Drop off donations of turkeys, rolls, potatoes, gravy packets, cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, stuffing and apple cider at Nyona's Studio 395 in Minden by Dec. 18. Information, (775) 392-0654.

Senior dinner. Carson Valley Residential Care Center serves a free turkey dinner and pumpkin pie for seniors 65 and older at 1 p.m. on Christmas Day. The center's 16-passenger bus provides transportation for those who need it. Make reservations by Dec. 21 by calling 265-1400, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Carson Valley Residential Care Center is at 1189 Kimmerling Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos.
