An intoxicated driver involved in a Dec. 10, 2022, head-on collision that occurred on Kimmerling Road was sentenced to 6-15 years in prison on May 22.

Jerod Alan Frank, 54, drove with an alcohol content of .272, according to court documents. It was his second felony DUI. He served a 2-6 year prison term starting in 2006.

“This case is not unlike the DUI court cases we see,” said District Court Judge Thomas Gregory. “The person is usually always a good person, good employee, etc., but they have this addiction and of course it’s a dangerous and unfortunate thing, we know this, but when a person with a .272 alcohol level gets behind the wheel, you are the most dangerous person in the county. Not that you are a bad person, but the danger of the situation makes you so.”

He was given credit for 46 days in Douglas County Jail.

Frank has already been transferred to Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
