Kirkwood

Kirkwood's weekend party is today through Sunday, with music, food, fireworks, skiing and mountain biking. The Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department barbecue is 3:30-6 p.m. Saturday. Music from Monique Haviland and the Kingtones, with fireworks at 9 p.m. Other events include fly-fishing clinic today and the Avalanche Cup on Sunday. Gardnerville Ranchos

The annual Fourth of July spectacular parade begins noon Sunday in Virginia City. David John & the Comstock Cowboys present their Second Amendment concert, 6-9 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Delta Saloon. The fireworks show begins at dusk.

Fireworks begin Sunday at dusk at Mills Park, at the corner of Roop Street and Highway 50, in Carson City. The 18th annual July 4th celebration with a carnival, food and arts and crafts hosted by Rural Nevada Rural Senior Volunteer Program runs through Sunday at Mills Park.

South Lake Tahoe

The Star Spangled Fourth Lights on the Lake begins about 9:45 p.m. Sunday at Tahoe's South Shore. Popular fireworks viewing points are Nevada Beach on Elk Point Road in Zephyr Cove, and on Regan and El Dorado beaches in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
