The fourth annual Glenwood Drive Independence Day Parade is 11 a.m. Saturday on Glenwood Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Set-up is 10:30 a.m. Information, tracy4573@charter.net


The 26th annual Pops in the Park 1 p.m. Saturday at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa. Patriotic music by the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jason Altieri at 4:15 p.m. John Tyson narrates the "Lincoln Portrait." Entertainment by the Country Valley Jug Stompers, Carson Chamber Singers, Doc-o and Squeeky, the Gairin Celtic Singers, Chorus of the Comstock and a children's instrument petting zoo. Silent auction. The Red, White & Blue Celebration featuring the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra in Heritage Park in Gardnerville is 2 p.m. Saturday. Free ice cream cups. Information, 782-7134.


Regional entertainment and fireworks

RSVP's July Fourth Celebration and carnival at Mills Park in Carson City opens at 3 p.m. today, and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. Saturday. All-day ride passes are $25, or $18 with a coupon available at www.funnbiz.com

The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City rolls out the V&T Railroad Inyo locomotive, 9-10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Inyo will be under steam, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rides on steam-powered passenger trains, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fares are $5 adults, $4 for seniors 65 and older, $3 children 6-11 years, and free for age 5 and younger.

Lake Tahoe's Lights on the Lake fireworks show, begins at dusk Saturday night in Stateline.

The Virginia City Independence Day Celebration parade begins at noon Saturday with children's activities and a country show with Lacy J. Dalton all day. Free Second Amendment Concert with David John and the Comstock Cowboys in the Delta Saloon parking lot at 6 p.m. Fireworks show at dusk. The Sparks Star Spangled Sparks celebration begins at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sparks Marina Park. Events held throughout the day and at nearby Victorian Square. Information, www.ci.sparks.nv.us
