Three hurt in Stateline fights

A fight early Sunday morning in Stateline resulted in two people being stabbed and one arrested.

South Lake Tahoe resident Jacob Giffin, 23, allegedly told deputies he accidentally stabbed his girlfriend and another man during an altercation at the Horizon 1 a.m.

According to the sheriff's report, the group went out drinking on Saturday night, but Giffin was ready to go home by 12:30 a.m. because he had to work in the morning.

He left the club and went up to the parking garage followed by his girlfriend. They got into an argument and one of the other girls in the group came up to Giffin and they got into a physical fight.

That girl's boyfriend arrived and he started fighting with Giffin. During the fight, Giffin said he pulled the knife and stabbed the man and accidentally stabbed his girlfriend.

Both victims were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe.

Giffin was booked into Douglas County jail.

A second altercation Sunday evening resulted in a man receiving a head injury.

Deputies responded to a report that someone was pushed off a barstool at Sam's Place at about 6:15 p.m.

When they went to look for the participants they found a man lying on the sidewalk in front of Lakeside Liquor with a head injury. The man was bleeding from the head. He told deputies he was pushed off a bar stool and hit his head.

The man was transported for medical treatment. Deputies were unable to locate his assailant.
