A Carson City man who entered his ex-girlfriend's home on June 20 and started hitting a man he found there with a flashlight will serve consecutive 180 day sentences for trespassing and battery.
Keith Watrous, 39, was stabbed with a kitchen knife during the altercation that occurred.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Watrous allegedly entered the north Valley home of his ex-girlfriend.
Deputies were told that Watrous and a 37-year-old man became involved in an altercation inside the home. The woman told deputies she stabbed Watrous with a kitchen knife to get him to stop hitting the victim with a flashlight.
Watrous allegedly drove off in her vehicle without her permission. He drove to Clear Creek Road, where he abandoned the vehicle. He was helicoptered to Renown Regional Medical Center for a single stab wound to the back.
The victim was taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center for treatment.
No charges were filed against the woman who stabbed Watrous.
In addition to serving a year in jail, Watrous will have to pay $3,654 in restitution to the victim.
He appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday.
