The R-C Morning Report

The Elks Summerfest carnival kicks off today in Lampe Park. The carnival will last through Sunday and is a major fundraiser for the organization.

We had some pretty good rain in places around the Valley on Monday evening. I received a report that it was falling so hard in Indian Hills that people couldn't talk over the noise it was making. The power was out in Gardnerville for a bit. I'll get in touch with the power company and find out the extent and what happened. When I was driving home the temperature dropped from 88 degrees in town to 77 degrees along Muller Lane.

There don't seem to be any major fires as a result of Monday's thunderstorms. When they come with rain, they sometimes put themselves out. Expect more of the same today.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for today, with thunderstorms developing this morning along the Sierra ridge and then moving northeast into Western Nevada. Expect brief periods of moderate to heavy rain in the mountains.

The high today is expected to hit 92 degrees with isolated thunderstorms. Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with a predicted high of 93 and then it gets a bit cooler through the weekend.
