Meeting week got started early with county commissioners meeting on Monday. The new county commission chairman is a woman. Foothill resident Nancy McDermid took the reins on Monday. Greg Lynn was named vice chairman out of the chute.

Tonight Gardnerville Town Board meets at 4:30 p.m., Parks & Recreation Commission meets at 6 p.m. and Genoa Town Board members meet at 7 p.m. Gardnerville board members will get their annual training on state law and a discussion of Nevada's open meeting law. Parks & Rec commissioners will discuss the river park proposals and for Genoans, it will be Candy Dance. Minden Town Board meets Wednesday.

A slight chance of rain or snow seems to be following us in the forecast like the moon on a clear night. The Weather Service is calling for a 20 percent chance of moisture before 10 a.m. The snow level is starting off at 4,800 feet and then rising to 7,300 feet. The high is expected to hit 51 degrees. Best chance of moisture in the week is on Thursday.
