The R-C Morning Report: Meeting week

Meeting week kicks off with the Gardnerville Town Board at 4:30 p.m. There are two presentations from the county on the agenda, one dealing with a proposed single family residential-traditional zoning district and another amending the county code to exempt existing commercially zoned lots in Minden and Gardnerville from the minimum lot area requirements.

Genoa town board members will be discussing a variety of issues related to the annual town fundraiser, including emergency access, jurying crafters, and recommendations to the county commission regarding competing outdoor festival permits, including possible changes to the county code. Genoans meet at 7 p.m.

There were a couple of injury accidents on Monday. The first occurred just east of Highway 88 on Centerville at 12:25 p.m. At least one person was taken for medical treatment by East Fork paramedics. The second occurred at Johnson Lane and Highway 395 at about 5 p.m. At least one person was injured in that accident.

It will be sunny through Thursday, but then the National Weather Service is betting skies will cloud up and may produce some rain. There's not much wind associated with the low coming in and only a 20 percent chance of rain on Friday. The temperature is 24 degrees in Genoa and expected to hit 66.
