R-C Morning Report

We climb back on the weather roller coaster this week with a chance of rain Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then on Friday, a chance of snow. So much for the first week of May. I'll tell you what I told my friend Susie when she asked whether I was planting tomatoes this year. I'm sure as heck not going to plant them before Memorial Day. Don't plant, don't even think about it yet.

The state is supposed to be working on Cradlebaugh Bridge and its companions on Highway 395 today between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. They must be going pretty quick, because I haven't spotted anyone working on any of these bridges. Highway 50 will be subject to road work at Glenbrook and Elks Point. Jacks Valley Road, north of Genoa, is also getting some utility work done. They've had it down to one lane for a week or two.

Meeting week begins Tuesday with Gardnerville and Genoa town boards. Gardnerville meets at 4:30 p.m. and Genoa at 7 p.m. On Wednesday Minden and the Gardnerville Ranchos meet and on Thursday, a marathon session of the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. I'll have more detail on all of these as we get closer to the dates.
