The R-C Morning Report

The National Weather Service is reporting that lake effect snow bands will hit areas downwind from Lake Tahoe this morning creating some hazardous conditions. The lake effect snow advisory will remain in effect until 10 a.m. today. It appears most of the bands are passing north of Carson Valley, so commuters should watch out.

Temperatures are supposed to drop today with the high not getting much past freezing, but it's already pretty close to that so we'll see.

Of more interest is that the temperature before sunrise this morning is 27 degrees, meaning that whatever moisture is on the roads may have turned to ice. Watch out for slick patches on the way into work today.

As of 6:22 a.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol is assisting a motorist at the intersection of Highway 50 and Kingsbury Grade with possible delays.

There are only a few days left to see a display of Washoe culture at the Minden Inn. Danny Wyatt will be on hand 10 a.m. to noon today to talk about the material. The display is available for people to look at from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday.
