A fire weather warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today thanks to the chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation today, increasing to 40 percent as high temperatures drop toward the middle of the week.

Firefighters anticipate having the Faye-Luther fire controlled by 6 p.m. today.

Kingsbury Grade has reopened today.

Absentee ballots will be available from the Douglas County Clerk's Office starting Friday for the Aug. 15 primary election.

Douglas County commissioners meet at 4:30 p.m. today to adopt the county's final budget and certify the tax rates. Commissioners meet in the historic Douglas County courthouse, 1616 8th Street in Minden.
