I don't have an evidence of this, but I believe the 107-degree reading Stan Kapler reported on Wednesday has to have broken the record. High temperature records are expected to fall again throughout Western Nevada today as high pressure builds. The high temperature today is predicted to hit 105 in Minden with a chance of thunderstorms developing after 11 a.m. By Friday, the temperatures will drop a tad, but a fire weather watch will begin Friday afternoon.

Douglas County commissioners will be hitting the "Bs" pretty hard today as they discuss the future of the bear trash ordinance and Big George's development on the county line. County commissioners meet at 1 p.m. today in the old courthouse at 1616 Eighth St.

Property owners affected by the Angora fire are being asked to meet with the team coordinating clean-up of the burn area 6 p.m. today at Tahoe Valley Elementary School at 943 Tahoe Island Drive. State and local officials will discuss the impending cleanup of the burned area and removal of debris from the site.

Minden Town Board members are meeting at 6 p.m. today and will be hearing such items as a request for a year extension for Monterra, the cost division for the roundabout and the plan for completion of Jake's Wetlands.
