The R-C Morning Report

Douglas County commissioners and planning commissioners meet Thursday to discuss the growth element of the master plan. Commissioners will hold their regular meeting starting at 1 p.m. in the Administration Building at 1616 Eighth St. Then they'll take it down Esmeralda Avenue to the CVIC Hall at 6 p.m. for the main event.

Firefighters responded to a couple of blazes over the weekend. Neither the chimney fire in Jacks Valley on Friday nor the brush fire behind Kelly Tires in Gardnerville on Saturday amounted to much more than a reminder to be careful with fire.

A little bit of snow may have fallen in the Sierra on Sunday and a little more is predicted for Tuesday. But for today, there is no chance of precipitation and partly cloudy skies. The high today is supposed to hit 47. The low tonight 17. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of precipitation on Tuesday and then it is dry for the rest of the week. The temperature before sunrise is 16 degrees.
