Girls' Basketball: Coleville picks up two wins



The Coleville Lady Wolves ended a grueling five-game stretch in as many days with two wins and three losses.


The week began Tuesday with a 47-42 loss at Mineral County. Coleville was led by Amara Rowley with 19 points and 14 rebounds and Kimberly Torley with 17 points and 20 rebounds.


Molly Garcia contributed six points and eight rebounds in the loss.


The Wolves had a day off before competing in the three-day Comstock Tournament held in Virginia City.


The Lady Wolves suffered an opening day loss at the hands of a very tough Yerington team with a final score of 46-29.


Torley led Coleville with 13 points. Rowley had 12 points, eight rebounds and seven steals.


Friday turned out to be a very successful outing for the Wolves as they picked up two victories.


In the first game, Coleville defeated Loyalton 51-36.


Torley led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds.


Rowley had 14 points, six assists and seven steals.


Garcia added seven points with Kassie Pemberton and Kayla Johnson scoring four points each.


In the second game of the day, the Wolves managed to scrape out a 31-24 victory over Silver Stage.


Torley led the Wolves with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rowley had nine points and 15 rebounds.


Pemberton also added five points in the win.


Coleville ended the tournament Saturday with a 61-55 loss to Wells in overtime.


Rowley had an outstanding game with 26 points before fouling out with one minute left in the fourth quarter.


Rowley also had nine steals, seven assists and eight rebounds. Torley and Skyler Isbell added 10 points each. Pemberton had six points.


Coleville ended the weekend 5-5 overall and will play at Excel Christian today before entering the two-week Christmas Break.
