Genoa, Nev. — The future of one of Nevada’s oldest homes is a topic of discussion at the Douglas County Planning Commission meeting 1 p.m. today in Minden. The Kinsey House was built by Genoa pioneer Stephen Kinsey in 1856 and was the first two-story brick building in the Silver State. Planning commissioners meet in the Douglas County Courthouse, 1616 Eighth St.

NV Energy issued an apology to Minden and Gardnerville residents on Monday. Not long after it arrived, the power went out in parts of the Valley. I had a blink around 7:50 p.m., which usually indicates a larger outage elsewhere.
