Genoa, Nev. — Led by a banner with notes and prayers written to victims, Washoe Tribe members conducted a 2.2-mile procession to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People on Sunday morning. The route took them from the Washoe Tribe Clinic in Dresslerville to the WaSheShu Center south of Gardnerville.
Sheriff Dan Coverley is back on the speaker circuit today with a visit to the Good Governance Group at noon. The group meets at the COD Casino. Bring $5 for the room and a beverage.
East Fork Fire Protection District trustees are meeting 1 p.m. today to discuss the district’s $28.9 million final budget. They also have a $1.7 million budget augment. Trustees meet at their offices at 1694 County Road
The final budget is also on the menu for Douglas County School Board trustees at 4 p.m. today. Trustees will hold a public hearing on the $66 million budget with reserves at the Airport Training Center,

Pulse Point indicates East Fork sent an engine and rescue to a collision around 1 a.m. today in the Gardnerville S Curve. They were on scene for 40 minutes.
The Esmeralda Avenue Farmers Market in downtown Minden is 4-8 p.m. today. I shouldn’t have to say this, but Esmeralda Avenue will be closed shortly before then for setup and during the market.
It will be warmish out again today with a forecast high temperature of 78 degrees. That may cool down a bit with a predicted 5-10 mph west wind gusting to 20 mph.
