Sentencing in the COD Casino heist is scheduled for the second anniversary of the July 14, 2023, robbery in downtown Minden.

Chase Aaron Henderson, 35, entered guilty pleas on Friday to felony principal to attempted murder of a peace officer and principal to robbery with a deadly weapon.

Attorneys may argue for any lawful sentence in the case where Henderson faces up to 70 years in prison, including deadly weapon enhancements. Henderson is not eligible for probation.

Henderson appeared in court with attorney Christopher Day, who filed the plea agreement in open court on Friday morning. The deal was entirely contingent on codefendant Andrew Scott Toomey, 45, who entered his guilty pleas later on Friday.

Henderson was transferred from the Nevada Department of Corrections to Douglas County custody on Friday morning, according to jail records.

He is serving a sentence for battery on a prisoner that occurred during the last 20 months. Young cautioned him that he could remain in the jail only as long as he behaved himself

Prosecutor Chelsea Mazza said she anticipates several witness statements at sentencing. Day said he would be calling a psychologist to testify on Henderson’s behalf.

The men are accused of entering the casino on Esmeralda Avenue at 4 a.m. July 14, 2023, and rounding up patrons and employees.

Henderson had a gun and Toomey was carrying a knife, according to court documents.

They took $40,000 and reportedly hopped into a blue and white PT Cruiser. According to court documents, they were pulled over by a deputy on County Road and Henderson fired three shots, which prompted the attempted murder charge.
