Collision closes Highway 88 between Centerville and Fairview

A three-vehicle T-bone type collision 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Highway 88 and Kimmerling Road resulted in one person being helicoptered for treatment and three others transported by ambulance.

Highway 88 was closed for nearly four hours while Nevada State Police conducted an investigation and the wreckage was cleared.

The collision knocked one vehicle onto its top, which required extrication for the driver, who was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center via CareFlight.

Highway 88 was closed at Centerville and Fairview while the collision was investigated by Nevada State Police and the wreckage cleared.

East Fork firefighters and medics were aided by Carson City rescuers, who also responded to calls.

Douglas County deputies and Washoe Tribe police conducted traffic control until they were relieved by the state police.

Firefighters cleared the collision by around 4:45 p.m. but told dispatch it would be some time before the road reopened. The Record-Courier has contacted the state police about the collision.

Traffic was diverted onto Fairview and Centerville lanes.

Another T-bone collision was reported at East Valley and Fish Springs roads at around 4 p.m. Four people were reported to be in the vehicles where the airbags deployed. Two were reportedly transported for treatment.
