Genoa, Nev. — District 3 County Commission candidate Dean Paris said he’s conceding the race. I’m publishing his letter to that effect on Wednesday. The race between Commissioner Mark Gardner and challenger Mike Tanner will still go to the primary, along with all the other commissioner seats.


A power outage on Saturday afternoon knocked out power to 1,925 customers on either side of the Douglas Carson City line. NV Energy Spokeswoman Meghin Delaney confirmed the outage started at 2:20 p.m. around the same time East Fork firefighters were called to an electrical emergency at Jacks Valley Road and Highway 395.


Members of the China Spring Youth Camp Advisory Board will discuss the selection of Interim Director Jessica Stocking as director at 10 a.m. today. The board will advise county commissioners, who are scheduled to vote on the selection on Thursday.


The Young at Heart Swap craft fair and swap meet was well attended on Saturday, which ended up being a nice day, after all. Next up is the St. Gall Spring Rummage Sale 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26 and 27.


Monitor Pass looks like it got the most precipitation in the region over the weekend with .4 inches and around 2 inches of snow. Kirkwood got an inch while Heavenly came up dry.


It’s looking like mostly sunny skies today with a high temperature of 64 degrees with the wind picking up out of the northwest at 5 mph this afternoon.
