Genoa, Nev. — The 10th annual Gotta Dance, benefitting the Suicide Prevention Network is tonight at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. I expect tickets for the event sold out long ago but you can go to www.spnawareness.org/events2024 to donate or sponsor a dancer.

One person was reportedly transported for treatment from a single vehicle collision reported around 1 p.m. on Highway 395 near Johnson Lane. Rescuers said the driver was alert and talking.

Young At Heart’s annual Swap Meet & Craft Fair on Saturday will feature 55 vendors at Lampe Park coming from as far away as Reno, Sun Valley, Fallon, and South Lake Tahoe, according to Event Chairman Bill Sugden. The event is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot.

The Nature Conservancy’s River Fork Ranch Preserve is hosting an open house 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 381 Genoa Lane, Genoa. Email lori.leonard@tnc.org for more information.

Alta Alpina’s Spring Rider Roundup has been postponed to April 20 due to the forecast weather. Rain is predicted on Saturday for Carson Valley. Kirkwood Ski Resort’s forecast is for heavy snow, with 3-5 inches possible.

Snow levels are expected to drop from 8,500 feet today to 6,000-7,000 feet on Saturday and 4,000-5,000 feet on Sunday. Today is forecast to be mostly sunny and breezy with a high temperature of 69 degrees and the south wind 15-25 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times.
