A more solemn anniversary was recognized on Tuesday morning.
“The Douglas County Sheriffs Mounted Posse rode horses in Minden to honor our country and in memory of DCSO posse member Tom Stone, who passed away after riding with the posse three years ago on the Fourth of July,” said President “Mo” Mekenas-Parga.
The Posse is an all-volunteer mounted unit that provides a mounted color guard honor for veterans and law enforcement.
“The posse also fundraises to provide monetary assistance for our community scholarships and trade schools,” said Mekenas-Parga.
