Douglas County Librarian Tim DeGhelder holds up his tiny art piece on Friday.

The Douglas County Public Library will be holding two “Tiny Art” show receptions to welcome new Library Director Tim DeGhelder to the community.

Leading up to the receptions, the library invites members of the public of all ages and skill levels to pick up their free painting kit beginning Sept. 1. The kit will include everything needed: a tiny canvas, paint set, and an info card with instructions. Kits will be available (Limit one per person) at both the Minden and Zephyr Cove Libraries as well as the Bookmobile. Take your kit home and paint something that makes you happy.

Return your completed painting and info card to the library by Oct. 15.

Paintings will be prepped for display, photographed, and posted on our website and social media accounts. Please note that inappropriate art will be rejected. Entries will be put on display at both Libraries beginning Nov. 1-30. Entries should be picked up after the receptions no later than Dec. 10

The Minden Library’s Art Show reception will be held on Nov. 4 and the Zephyr Cove Library’s reception will be held on Nov. 9. Both receptions will run from 4-8 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.

The Tiny Art Show is sponsored by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane. The Zephyr Cove Library is located at 233 Warrior Way.
