Genoa, Nev. — I received good reviews for the coronavirus vaccination clinics held over the weekend. I think taking them indoors is the right call until we can rely on nice weather. Starting today, 65 year olds are eligible for the vaccine. To find an appointment, visit nvcovidfighter.org to find vaccinations from a private pharmacy or go to gethealthycarsoncity.org.


The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce is distributing personal protective equipment to businesses and nonprofits. Go to carsonvalleynv.org and click on the big golden header to fill out the necessary forms.


East Fork medics responded to a two-vehicle collision that reportedly injured three people at Day Lane and Lower Colony Road in Smith Valley around 8:15 a.m. Saturday. Two people were helicoptered with critical injuries.


Sixth-graders are returning full-time to Carson Valley and Pau-Wa-Lu middle schools this morning. There have been students at those schools since August, so it’s just a matter of numbers. It’s always good to keep an eye out for children around school zones, or anywhere else for that matter, during the day.


Expect sunny skies with a high near 56 degrees, with the wind picking up to 10-15 mph gusting to 25 mph out off the southwest this afternoon. There’s the barest chance of moisture coming Saturday, but we’ll see how that goes.
