According to the National Weather Service high winds will continue through today. An area of low pressure is bringing strong guys winds across the Eastern Sierra and Western Nevada.
The storm is bring snow to higher elevations. A wind advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. today.
The winds coming from the south will bring gusts to 55 mph. Motorists are urged to use caution.
