Today's county commission meeting is canceled due to the Nevada Association of Counties conference that started on Wednesday in Reno. Douglas County Commissioner Doug Johnson is president elect of the board and is scheduled to take over as president in 2011.
The California Highway Patrol is reporting a spinout in Markleeville. The report came in at 5:51 a.m. and does not appear to involve any injury.
Today's weather will be windy, but warm with a high temperature hitting 61 degrees. It's already 51 degrees, so expect the high sometime this morning. Winds will be 25 mph, gusting to 45 mph. There's a high wind warning through Washoe Valley this morning.
