The R-C Morning Report

The final form of the new airport ordinance will go before Douglas County commissioners this afternoon in Stateline. Should they approve the resolution, it will appear on the ballot in November. Also up today is a continuation of the water consolidation meetings. Commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Transportation Center.

The former Bill's isn't the only adult-oriented business proposed for Stateline. MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa is requesting an adult characterized business license for the body painting of models, and I don't think they mean P-51 Mustangs. The "painting" will also involve patrons of the Opal and Blu clubs. They'd hire an artist and everyone has to wear underwear. The artist uses lycra paint which has to be peeled off.

It was one smoky afternoon in Carson Valley on Wednesday. Big ag burns were going on at the north and south end of the Valley, and someone who should know said they were burning tules, which helped thicken the smoke. It might be too windy to burn today.

Thunderstorms are out of the forecast today, which doesn't really surprise me. There's a slight chance of isolated showers before 11 a.m. under partly cloudy skies. The high temperature today should hit 61 degrees. Expect the wind to pick up to 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph in the afternoon.
