Pony Express story time April 6
The Douglas County Public Library presents Pony Express story time for children 3 and older, 10:30 a.m. April 6, at 1625 Library Lane, Minden. Children write letters to be carried by Pony Express riders. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult. Letters may be picked up after the Pony Express mail exchange demonstration, 10 a.m. May 1, at Herbig Park across from Lampe Park in Gardnerville.
Library closes early April 9
The Douglas County Public Library will close at noon April 9 for a volunteer recognition event. Regular schedule resumes 10 a.m. April 10.
Special events for National Library Week
The Douglas County Public Library celebrates National Library Week April 12-17 with an appearance of Amelia Bedelia, 6 p.m. April 12, at 1625 Library Lane, Minden.
A special story time for children 3-5 is 10:30 a.m. April 13 at the library. Children may bring a favorite book for Miss Carol to read aloud.
