Fishtank concert tonight

The Carson Valley Arts Council's fourth annual concert series continues with the Fishtank Ensemble, 7 p.m. today, at the CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Ave., in Minden. Art show at Copeland

The Abstractly Speaking art show featuring photos and paintings by Gardnerville resident Pam Brekas runs through Jan. 30 at the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Highway 395 in Minden, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Stand-up comedy class

Kat Simmons hosts a stand-up comedy workshop, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 9 through March 23, at the Carson Valley Arts Council in Minden. During the six-week workshop, students write a seven-minute set to present at a public showcase on the last night. Class size is limited to no more than 10 students. 'Odd Couple' coming

Musical revue auditions

Auditions for the Carson Valley Community Theater's musical revue, "Broadway Through the Decades," are 6-9 p.m. Feb. 24 and 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 27 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.

Auditions open to singers and dancers of all ages for the show of songs from Broadway shows from 1900s to present, presented May 14-23 at the CVIC Hall in Minden. Bring two Broadway songs - one ballad and one upbeat - with sheet music, tape or CD accompaniment. A special role for a female of 60-plus years will also be auditioned.
