The R-C Morning Report

Tonight's the big Carson Douglas game at Carson High School. The girls and the boys are playing tonight. Sports Editor Joey Crandall will be covering it live at www.recordcourier.com.

The Olympics opening ceremony is 7:30 p.m. tonight on NBC, despite what my column said today. Another correction Peter Axelson lives in Gardnerville, not Minden. His firm is in Minden. I had a long talk with him about being part of the closing delegation on Thursday night and we'll have a longer article next week.

The only precipitation we got last night were sticks falling from the trees thanks to the wind. A 33 mph gust was recorded in the Gardnerville Ranchos. It's still blowing a little bit outside, but has settled down. Expect the wind to keep blowing at about 10 mph today. We're looking at partly sunny skies with a high climbing to 53 degrees today. Highs are going to keep climbing next week, flirting with 60s toward the beginning of the week.
