The R-C Morning Report

Members of the Minden-Tahoe Airport Master Plan Work Group will take a look at the overall plan for the first time in a year-long process 3 p.m. today in the commission chambers of the Douglas County Administrative Building, 1616 Eighth St., in Minden. Planners will discuss the pubic workshops and revisions of three development plans and talk about their next move.

A high wind advisory kicks off at 10 a.m. this morning and will last until 6 p.m. as another storm rolls in today. Winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected this afternoon. The foothills and Highway 395 could see gusts of up to 60 mph. Expect blowing snow in Carson and Washoe valleys on the commute home tonight, or just wait it out.

On the other side of the wind storm, the National Weather Service is predicting that snow showers will be likely after 4 p.m. Snow accumulations will less than half an inch during the day and 1-2 inches before 10 p.m. Another front is coming through on Saturday and then we get a break from the weather for a bit. It's 21 degrees in Minden.
