Open mic jam sessions offered

Musician Dean Brownell hosts the Indigo open mic/jam sessions at 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at Indigo Restaurant & Bar,1665 Lucerne St. in Minden Village. Hear music from a single acoustic guitar or piano to full rock and country bands. If you are a musician, show up with your instrument and Brownell makes sure you get a chance to strut your stuff. Brownell and Tina Dayton are hosts for jam sessions at 6:30 p.m. Sundays at the Twisted Spoke, 3198 N. Deer Run Road in Carson City. The jams offer the opportunity for local players to play rock and blues with professional musicians. Information, 887-1117 or www.4pints.com

The Sidelines Jam is 9 p.m. Tuesdays at Sidelines Bar, 1237 Baring Blvd., Sparks. Brownell and band members Rich Malone and Dan Rightly deliver sets of classic rock, blues and folk music. Information, (775) 355-1030 or www.sidelinesbar.com
