Tramway fourplex fire started in in chimney chase

The Tahoe Douglas Fire District is investigating a fire at a fourplex on Tramway Drive that took place Tuesday night.

The fire started about 4:30 p.m. and was extinguished by about 5:30 p.m. said Ben Sharit, battalion chief with the Tahoe Douglas Fire District.

The fire began in a chimney chase shared by the four units. It was reported by people in an adjacent building.

The fourplex was uninhabited at the time of the fire, Sharit said. No one was injured in the fire.

Traffic was stopped Tuesday night at the Fox & Hound Bar & Grill while firefighters battled the blaze.

Flames were reported coming from the second and third stories of 256 Tramway Drive.
