Wine walk Thursday

The Thirsty Third Thursday wine and beer walk is Aug. 19 with a rocking '50s theme. Cost is $10 plus $5 for a commemorative wine glass, which may be used at all 2010 wine walks. Discovery Center

Registration is open for the Discovery Center preschool and extended day kindergarten beginning Sept. 7 at 1327 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. Concert series begins Sept. 30

Sponsorships and season tickets are available for the Carson Valley Arts Council's 2010-11 concert series, opening Sept. 30 with Canadian folk band Tiller's Folly. Next in the series is Brenn Hill on Oct. 29, Vishten on Jan. 15, Red Chamber on Feb. 25, Robert Mirabal on March 25 and Hot Club Cowtown on May 13.
