It's a busy start to meeting week as the boards for the towns of Gardnerville and Genoa, and the Douglas County School Board meet today. School board kicks off at 4 p.m. at Douglas High School to discuss the rules of engagement with new Superintendent Lisa Noonan. Gardnerville Town Board members meet 4:30 p.m. in the town offices where town board members will discuss an increase in trash rates and an update on Martin Slough Linear Parkway.
Genoans are scheduled to discuss the agreement between the town and the Carson Valley Arts Council to conduct next year's Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival. Town board members will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the town offices.
A 21-year-old Gardnerville man faces up to 10 years in prison this morning for grand larceny after he admitted stealing from his family to finance his heroin addiction. Tyler Scott Schroeder is scheduled to be sentenced on the grand larceny count and a 2009 possession of stolen property count that was deferred last year.
The weather is sunny and clear with highs in the low 90s and lows in the upper 40s for the next week or so.
