Halloween Spirit Tour at Dake House

Staff Reports

The public is invited to visit the spirit realm on Oct. 31, the night when the veil separating our world from the spirit is at its thinnest.

The Dake House, a Gothic Victorian built in 1872 by Genoa's first undertaker, houses a variety of spirits and is well known for its spirit painting. The house is mentioned in the Encyclopedia of Haunted Places which states that the house is one of the most haunted places in Northern Nevada. Numerous paranormal occurrences have been documented on the premises. The tape of a news report on the house's spirits from Channel 2 News along with the voices captured on the recording will be played throughout the evening.

On hand will be Sandie La Nae of Thin Veil Investigations. The Thin Veil team will give instruction on how to reach those on the other side. There will be an extra charge for any readings by Sandie, and you can also find out about your inner self with an analysis from a handwriting specialist. This will be an evening of fun and discovery.

The tour times are 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31. The evening will then continue at Genoa's haunted Bed & Breakfast. Anyone with the courage to spend the night can make reservations by calling 755-588-2103.

Tickets for the spirit tour are $7, reservations are recommended but tickets can be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be served all evening.

The Dake House is located at 2242 Main Street in Genoa, next to the Genoa Post Office. Information, 782-4951. This is not a fright night.
