Delbert 'Bud' Fortenberry

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gardnerville home of Dainer Bailey for Delbert 'Bud' Fortenberry, 50, who died June 17, 2009, in Carson City.

Born Nov. 14, 1958, in Alexandria, La., to Willis and Joan Fortenberry, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Fortenberry was an Entered Apprentice Mason in the Carson Valley Lodge No. 33. Mr. Fortenberry was a Catholic.

He moved to Carson City from Gardnerville in 2009.

Mr. Fortenberry was preceded in death by his father Willis "Bob" Fortenberry.

He is survived by mother Joan Gartman of Lake Butler, Fla.; daughters Katrina Fortenberry of San Jose, Calif., and Charlotte Fortenberry of Carson City; brothers Charles Gartman and Herbert Gartman, both from Lake Butler, Fla.; sisters Margaret Reeves, Barbara Fischer, Jana Redding and Jackie Beech, all of Lake Butler, Fla., Joan Prevatt of St. Augustine, Fla., Karen Zwerg of Ocean Springs, Miss., Sherril Burns of Hattiesburg, Miss.; numerous nieces and nephews and fiancee Heather Raftery of Carson City.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with his final arrangements.
