Young Chautauqua in the park today

This year's Douglas County Young Chautauquans perform 5-8 p.m. today in a free presentation at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa. Characters portrayed include Maude Adams, Nellie Taylor Ross, Annie Oakley, Ellen Cashman, Anne Frank, Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance. The Young Chautauqua Program began in 1999 and features fourth- to 12th-grade students performing as historical characters. The program is funded in part by Nevada Humanities. Information, 782-2555.
