Young Chautauquans perform June 16

The Douglas County Historical Society hosts the Young Chautauqua performance, 5 p.m. June 16, under the tent at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa.

Bring a picnic and enjoy students portray Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane, Nellie Bly and Elizabeth Blackwell. Diana Borges portrays Sarah Winnemucca in an adult Chautauqua presentation.

The Young Chautauqua program began in January when fourth- to 12th-grade students chose historical characters to research and present in the first person for the annual free event in the park.
