Soroptimist International of Carson Valley invites applicants to submit request for funding for community service projects that benefit the community, women and children in particular. Funding will be awarded to recipients at a luncheon in October.

Soroptimist International is the world's largest classified service organization for executive and professional women for the purpose of providing service locally, nationally and globally. There are over 95,000 members from 120 countries and territories who volunteer their time and financial support to promote and improve the quality of life for all people.

Fundraisers are held by Soroptimist International of Carson Valley throughout the year to raise funds for projects. Past service projects include Abbey Crossing Women's Shelter, Family Support Council, Douglas County Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Heritage Park, student scholarships, student achievement awards. Halloween Safety Streets, A Fighting Chance, Project Santa Claus, Carson River clean-up, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Swing for a Cure, Day of Unity, MammoVan, Ronald McDonald Camp, Soroptimist Smile, Boys & Girls Club and Carson-Tahoe Cancer Center.
