Tahoe Ridge Winery is packing up for the move from Genoa to Minden. There's a big banner hanging outside the building in Genoa announcing the move. The winery should be out of its digs in Genoa by August and into the former Casa Bella building in Minden. They were located in Genoa for five years.

The Carson Valley Days carnival kicks off today at 5 p.m. It's buddy night, so bring a friend and the two of you can get in for $22. Reduced price tickets to the carnival are still available from Raley's and Nevada State Bank for $17. But you can't get someone in for free tonight with your reduced price tickets.

Someone asked People Editor Sharlene Irete if she had gone anywhere on her vacation. "Apparently I went to the Pacific Northwest without ever leaving the Valley." The cool cloudy weather pattern that has followed us for the past two weeks looks like it's sticking around some more. Today the chance of precipitation from isolated thunderstorms is 20 percent. The chance for thunderstorms on Friday increases from isolated from scattered and on Saturday it goes up to 40 percent after 11 a.m.
